Lainate, March 2018 - Carlo Gavazzi Automation, the international electronics group with activities in the design, manufacture and marketing of electronic equipment, presents two new modular residual current devices (MRCD).
These two types of earth leakage monitoring relays have been developed to be used for safety purposes, eliminating the risk of electrocution and preventing any possible fire caused by grounding and/or insulation failure.
The main advantage offered by our monitoring solution is avoiding nuisance tripping in the circuit, in accordance with the EN 60947-2 Annex M norm. A further warning signal at 60% current leakage, as well as the alarm, two outputs, fixed and adjustable models all in 35mm wide housing, complete the benefits provided to customers.
Time-saving installation, a reliable tripping level and safety against tampering are obtained thanks to fixed trip levels (on DEA71), easy setup and the lockable front cover.
“The DEA and DEB monitoring relays can be used on both three phase or single phase TN and TT earthing systems,” says Mark Wilkinson – International Product Manager. “With this launch Carlo Gavazzi is further expanding its range of monitoring relays, providing more and more flexibility and safety”.
Developed by our Competence Centre in Belluno (Italy), the DEA71 and DEB71 series are targeted at specific applications in industrial, commercial and residential buildings, data centres, motor management stations, water treatment and traffic management.
Main technical features
• DEA71 2 models with fixed trip setting: 30 mA and 300 mA
• DEB71 2 models with adjustable trip level: 30 mA to 5 A and 300 mA to 30 A
• 2 SPDT relay outputs, for warning and for alarm
• 24 VAC to 240 VAC power supply
• NORM DIN-rail housing 35 mm
• Lockable lid on adjustable models (DEB71)

RGC..32: THE EXTREMELY COMPACT 30 AAC SOLID STATE CONTACTOR SERIES
The perfect solution for protection against short circuits with B-type MCBs.
- PR_RGC..32_1803.pdf (PDF - 108.83 Kb)
Lainate, March 2018 - Carlo Gavazzi Automation, the international electronics group with activities in the design, manufacture and marketing of electronic equipment, presents its new solid state contactor series.
The RGC..32 solid state contactor is intended mainly for switching of heater loads up to a maximum of 37 AAC, occupying as little space as possible. It is available with screw output terminals, for a maximum rating of 30 AAC, and also with box clamp output terminals, for a maximum rating of 37 AAC.
The footprint occupied by this series is only 17.8mm / 0.7”. Apart from space saving in the panel, its small size also means less weight and hence lower transportation costs for machines, especially when multiple SSRs are used.
Thanks to its high surge current specification, the RGC..32 can be protected against short circuits by the use of economical and easily accessible Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCB) instead of semiconductor fuses. Since the width of the RGC..32 is identical to that of the MCB, a combination of the 2 components allows for a very neat and effective panel layout.
“This new range of solid state contactors presents the opportunity to optimise panel space but it also provides energy savings in panel cooling, thanks to the low power dissipation,” says Dorianne Grech – International Product Manager. “With this launch Carlo Gavazzi’s intention is to further strengthen its position in the market”.
Developed by our Competence Centre in Malta, the RGC..32 series is targeted at the Plastics & Rubber, Packaging and Semiconductor markets.
