DPD ENHANCED SOFTWARE VERSION: NEW FUNCTIONALITIES AND RINA APPROVAL

More flexibility in alarms configuration and RINA approval, which enables its use in Marine applications.

Lainate, November 2017 Carlo Gavazzi Automation, the international electronics group with activities in the design, manufacture and marketing of electronic equipment, today presents the enhanced software version of the DPD monitoring relays.

The biggest innovation in this version, besides other minor changes, is the implementation of the real time reading of the device status and line measurements via the NFC communication.

While the product is the same, the two Apps have been improved.
Now it is possible to read the alarms status and the voltage and frequency readings during operation, by means of a smartphone or a PC. The priority alarms can be enabled or disabled and the configuration files are now not only saved locally but can also be exported and sent by mail or via cloud.

“When compared to the existing DPD series, the main advantage of this solution is the possibility to immediately troubleshoot in case of failure. Alarms configuration is now more flexible and the required alarms can be selected with just a few clicks,” says Mark J. Wilkinson – International Product Manager. “The purpose of this launch is to maximise the potential of the NFC communication, previously limited to only the device configuration. Carlo Gavazzi’s intention is to further boost DPD sales mainly because, compared to monitoring relays’ competitors, we can provide NFC communication and the possibility of reading the device status in real time.”

Developed by our Competence Centre in Italy, the DPD with enhanced functions has been designed to meet the requirements of the HVAC, Packaging, Bottling, Materials handling and Marine markets.

Main technical features
• Three phase Voltage and Frequency monitoring
• Delta and Star mains
• 120 VLN to 277 VLN and 208 VLL to 480 VLL
• 45 Hz to 440 Hz
• 2 Changeover relay outputs
• NFC communication

SHJWINS04: WIRELESS INPUT MODULE AND PULSE COUNTER

The cost-effective and compact solution for system integrators.

Lainate, November 2017 - Carlo Gavazzi Automation, the international electronics group with activities in the design, manufacture and marketing of electronic equipment, today presents its new wireless input module, the SHJWIN.

This wireless device allows the reading of up to 4 contact inputs or 4 pulse outputs, according to S0 precision and sends the data to the Sx2WEB controller and datalogger.

Due to its compact dimensions, its installation is fast and easy, even where there is space restriction and thanks to its scalability the new module can be progressively integrated into the system according to the application needs.

“The purpose of this launch is to add an input and pulse counter module to our wireless portfolio to provide a solution in those applications where it is not possible to wire cables,” says Raffaella Sirena – International Product Manager. “Carlo Gavazzi is now able to offer several extra features, such as extended transmission distance, de-central installation and two products in one (input module and pulse counter), making this system more attractive to system integrators and providing significant savings in installation costs. We expect that the ongoing positive development in the Building Automation market in many countries will be further boosted by these new exciting system enhancements.”

Developed by our Competence Centre in Italy, this wireless input module has been specifically designed for Building Automation market applications such as de-central counting of pulses from energy meters, water meters, gas meters and general purpose input.

Main technical features
• No wires
• Four programmable inputs
• Counts up to 99999999
• Automatic roll-over when max count is reached
• Option for counter reset
• Option for pre-scaler on count inputs
• Powered by 230 V
• Operating distance 700 m
